Clinical Pilates is a form of exercise that is suitable for just about anyone. It uses a system of exercises designed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s and is designed to improve strength, posture, flexibility and overall physical fitness.

Physiotherapy

Women's Health

Women’s health physiotherapists are involved in providing services such as antenatal and postnatal education, pregnancy-specific exercises and individual musculoskeletal treatments for pregnancy-related back pain and incontinence. In addition, we also design osteoporosis education and treat women post-mastectomy.

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage involves the assessment, analysis and treatment of your body. It uses a wide range of soft and deep tissue technique to relieve sore muscles, improve posture and flexibility, prevent and/or manage injury.

Clinical Pilates

Clinical Pilates are run by  experienced physiotherapists with specialised training in the Pilates methodology. Prior to commencing, a thorough assessment is undertaken to develop a personalised pilates program. It focuses on posture, core strengthening, balance, strength, breathing, flexibility and overall physical fitness. It can also be used in combination with physiotherapy to help you recover from various acute and chronic injuries.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy also known as “aquatic physiotherapy” is the use of heated pool for therapy, rehabilitation, exercise, relaxation and more. Hydrotherapy can decrease pain and swelling, increase function, strength and range of movement.

Gym/Exercise rehabilitation

Our qualified physiotherapists run gym programs at our rehab gym. To maximise performance results, it is a prerequisite that you attend a one-on-one physio consultation to develop an individually tailored gym rehab program.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. It helps with blood flow, pain, inflammation and general well-being.  

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound is a modality that has been used by physiotherapist since the 1940s. Ultrasound is applied using the head of an ultrasound probe that is placed in direct contact with your skin via a transmission coupling gel. It facilitates tissue healing, reduces local swelling and chronic inflammation.

Dry needling/Acupuncture

Dry Needling and Acupuncture are useful modalities to treat muscles aches, provide pain relief and assist your injury rehabilitation. The technique involved with inserting an acupuncture needle into the trigger point in the muscle. These needles are incredibly thin with a diameter of about 0.3 of a millimetre.

What is Physiotherapy?

We also work closely with GPs and other health clinicians to plan and mange treatment. GPs refer more patients to physiotherapist than any other healthcare profession.

Do I need a GP’s referral to see a physiotherapist?

Nope! Physiotherapists are first order practitioners, so you don’t need a referral unless you are claiming your treatment through a compensable body such as Medicare EPC, Workcover or Motor vehicle insurance. What is the difference between physiotherapy and remedial massage?

Physiotherapy is the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of conditions resulting in pain, restricted movement, weakness and altered mobility caused by accident, illness or degeneration.

Remedial massage therapy is a hands on treatment to soft tissue restoring function, relieving pain, decreasing muscle tension and/or spasm to improve physical or athletic performance and promote healing.

How long is an appointment?

Physiotherapy sessions are 30 minutes long and Remedial Massage sessions can be in 30 minute or 1 hour sessions.
